Adware refers to software that installs itself alongside freeware or shareware applications. These advertisement programs create revenue for the software developer and are provided with initial consent from the user, although the fine printing can be rather small. Adware displays Web-based ads through pop-up windows or through an banner ads that appears within a program’s interface.
