Alias - Definition
Alias is a hostname that replaces another hostname, which can be another name for the same Internet address. For example, www.company.com could be an alias for server01.company.com. E-Mail alias can also be created to forward mail to any address you specify in case you possess a difficult-to-remember e-mail address. Aliases can also be used to create many different generic e-mail addresses such as webmaster@company.com and info@company.com etc.
