Domain - Definition
A Domain is a unit in which one or more computers are organized in a particular hierarchy. At the highest level, known as the top-level domain, computers are grouped by type (commercial, educational, organization, government etc. They are also grouped by country/region such as France, Germany, United States, United Kingdom etc. At the second-level domain hierarchy, computers are grouped by site such as Google.com, Yahoo.com, etc. At optional lower levels, computers can be grouped by site administrators into whatever units best suit the needs of their organization.
