E-Mail - Definition
E-Mail is an abbreviation Electronic Mail. Whenever you send messages to people using a computer and they receive it and read it later, you’ve sent a piece of electronic mail. E-mail can be sent in several ways, such as across a local area network, via the Internet, or most often through an online service provider like EarthLink or America Online. You can send it to a single recipient or to a whole group of contacts. But all e-mail behaves pretty much the same way where you send it to a virtual mailbox, and the recipient has to pick it up or can use software that does it automatically.
