GUI - Definition
GUI is an abbreviation for Graphical User Interface. As you read this definition, you are looking at the GUI or graphical user interface of your particular Web browser, such as Mozilla Firefox. By using a GUI, it is easier to operate a computer by interacting with menus and pictures and on the screen, as opposed to entering MS-DOS commands by typing them with the keyboard. The use of a GUI requires an input device in addition to the keyboard, such as a mouse, trackball or touch screen. Graphical User Interfaces exist for Mac, Linux and Windows operating systems and their programs.
