ITU - Definition
ITU is an abbreviation for International Telecommunication Union. It is an international organization based in Geneva, Switzerland. The ITU focuses on telecommunications and is divided into three sectors dealing with radio communications, standardization, and development. The standardization sector is the new and current home of the organization formerly known as the CCITT. The ITU is headed by a secretary general, who is elected to a four-year term by the member states.
