Kerning - Definition
Kerning, in typography, refers to adjusting the space between characters in a word, a line of text, or an entire document to allow the text to align or fit properly. This is accomplished by placing characters closer together or farther apart. Kerning makes certain combinations of letters, such as WA, MW, TA, and VA, look better by placing these letters closer together to align with the text.
