LED - Definition
LED is an abbreviation for Light Emitting Diode. It is an electronic device that lights up when electricity is passed through it. LEDs are are good for displaying images because they can be relatively small, and they do not burn out. However, they require more power than LCDs. LEDs are found in all kinds of devices. They can form the numbers displayed on digital clocks, transmit data from remote controls, light up watches and even tell you when your appliances are turned on.
