A Link is short for Hyperlink and can be in text or graphic format. Text links will be of another color than the rest of the page text and are usually underlined. The standard text link color is medium blue, however other colors are also used. When you click on a text or graphic link, you will transport or “jump” your browser, such as Mozilla Firefox, to another web site or another web page on the same web site. If it is a download link, it will initiate the downloading of a software program to your computer. A link can launch or open a helper application, such as an e-mail program. If a banner or box ad, which are usually links, is clicked on, you will be transported to the advertiser’s web site.
