PCI - Definition
PCI is an abbreviation for Peripheral Component Interconnect. It is a local bus architecture on a computer system that supports and provides both 32 and 64-bit data paths. It operates at a bus speed of 33 Megahertz (MHz) and is processor independent, which means that it communicates with the processor through an independent bridge circuit. Most PCI expansion cards are Plug and Play.
