Public Domain - Definition
Public Domain essentially means that works in the public domain are available to the public at no charge because their copyrights, trademarks, or patents have expired or somehow been nullified. This may even include information on government sites. This does not include information that is publicly visible on private or commercial web sites. Just because it’s there, does not mean you may copy it for your own site or publications without permission from the legal copyright holder.
