QWERTY - Definition
QWERTY refers to the arrangement of keys on a standard English computer keyboard or typewriter. It is also known as the Sholes keyboard after Christopher Sholes who invented the typewriter in 1868. The name derives from the first six characters on the top alphabetic line of the keyboard. Christopher Sholes patented the QWERTY design in 1874 and sold it to Remington in the same year.
