Tag - Definition
A Tag refers to a marker of some sort. In the HTML markup language of the World Wide Web, Tags are embedded codes used to identify and define the properties of the element within a document. These can be images, formatted text, page layout, hyperlinks, and so on. These tags are used by browser software, such as Mozilla Firefox, in determining how documents are displayed on screen.
