VRML - Definition
VRML is an abbreviation for Virtual Reality Modeling Language. It is a data specification designed to display three dimensional objects on the World Wide Web. You can think of it as the 3D equivalent of HTML. It was introduced to allow web browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox, with a VRML plug-in to process the code that defines the 3D objects and their behavior. VRML produces a hyperspace (or a world), a 3-dimensional space that appears on your screen so you can move within this space. VRML has yet to catch on, but there are a number of web sites dedicated to its 3D technology.
