Zone - Definition
A Zone refers to a section of the total domain name space that is represented by the data stored on a particular name server. The meaning is similar to that of domain. The name server maintains full authority over that particular zone or the particular section of the domain name space as described by that data. Only the members of a zone have access to one another.
